Late last week, the crooner’s chart-topping single “The Hills” earned a Diamond certification from the RIAA after selling more than 10 million units. The Weeknd is now the 23rd artist to earn such a distinction.

The singer took Twitter to celebrate the accolade with fans, writing: “Became a diamond selling artist today. i’m nothing without my team. thank you , XO.”

Back in 2015, the Beauty Behind the Madness cut topped the Billboard Hot 100 and remained there for six weeks, besting the album’s lead single “Can’t Feel My Face.” In doing so, The Weeknd became the 11th artist ever to replace himself at number one on the Hot 100.

“The Hills” has since been treated to a handful of remixes courtesy of Nicki Minaj and Eminem, respectively.

While The Weeknd has been relatively mum on the album front, the singer recently expanded his investment portfolio by becoming a global ambassador for Esports Franchise Overactive Media, Billboard reports.
