Timbaland has created the NFT Producer Mix Series and will auction music from his new EP on Tuesday, November 2.

The co-founder of Verzuz is combining segments of tracks from his upcoming EP, Opera Noir, with the artwork of Jennifer and Kevin McCoy, according to MusicBusinessWorldwide.com. The auction will be through Monegraph’s Readymade NFT eCommerce Platform.

Each song from the EP will have 5 to 8 different NFTs. Collectors of multiple NFTs will be provided with an online mix board to create their own designs with Timbaland’s beats.

Prior to creating the NFT Producer Mix Series, in August, the four-time Grammy winner founded his online marketplace, Beatclub, which enables artists to create music from beats crafted by him and other producers.

“Music NFTs are now part of our business. They offer musicians a new way to express themselves and interact with fans,” Timbaland said in a statement. “Critical to our industry is the ability to implement the same media rights protection we have in other formats such as streaming, with what we do now in NFTs.”

“With Monegraph’s digital rights controls we now have the intellectual protection needed to safely scale the issuance of NFTs across the music world,” he added.

In describing, Opera Noir, the “Give It to Me” rapper/producer says, “Celebrate the funky sounds and tones of the 70s era as R&B was fast evolving and forming the foundation for hip hop.”
