Dennis Leupold/RCA Records With news of her highly anticipated next album, Joyride, the release of her latest single, “Superlove,” and its sexy music video, R&B songstress Tinashe has been on a roll this year.
During yesterday’s red carpet event for MTV’s Video Music Awards, the entertainer talked to ABC Radio about what fans can expect from her sophomore studio album, which is currently in development.
“Joyride is coming very soon, which I’m very excited about. “Superlove” is out now, and I just released the music video, which is really fun,” she said. “We got to be on the beach, doing a lot of dancing, it was really high energy, so I had a great time. I’m excited about the new music,” Tinashe added.
As for the inspiration behind her fun, summer single “Superlove,” and its Baywatch-inspired music video, Tinashe expressed that it all boiled down to the power of positivity.
“For “Superlove,” I definitely was inspired by, just, positivity, positive energy, I wanted to bring something really lighthearted and fun to the table, and that’s what “Superlove” is all about,” she said.
“I think it’s really important to bring positivity to the table because…we have to, in this day and age, in music… we have to really emphasize that and I think that it’s important that we have just music that makes people feel good.”
