Title of Michael Jackson stage musical revealed; show to premiere in Chicago this October

by

Courtesy of DKC O&MThe previously reported stage musical based on Michael Jackson‘s life, sanctioned by the late King of Pop’s estate, now has a title and a premiere date.

The show, currently in development, is called Don’t Stop ’til You Get Enough and will begin its first performances in Chicago at the James M. Nederlander Theatre on October 29.

The musical’s initial run is scheduled through December 1, and it’ll come to Broadway in 2020.

Don’t Stop ’til You Get Enough is set behind-the-scenes in 1992, as Jackson rehearses for his Dangerous tour. As Michael and his collaborators prepare for the performances of his various classic songs, audiences are transported to key moments in the entertainer’s career. The show will include more than 25 of Jackson’s hits.

As previously reported, the musical is being written by Pulitzer Prize-winner Lynn Nottage, while Tony-winner Christopher Wheeldon will direct and choreograph the show.

Tickets for the show’s Windy City run are available now for groups of 10 or more via the Broadway in Chicago theater production company’s group-sales office by phoning 312-977-1710.

Don’t Stop ’til You Get Enough will also be part of the next Broadway in Chicago subscription package, which will go on sale in the spring.
