Megan Thee Stallion got Good News in court Thursday, after a judge ruled against her alleged shooter, Tory Lanez, who previously requested to publicly speak about her summer shooting, reports Page Six.
Attorney Shawn Holley spoke on behalf of Lanez, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, at the Superior Court of California in Los Angeles. Holley said the protective order banning his client from discussing the case was “unfair.”
As previously reported, Lanez filed court documents last month in order to publicly defend himself after Megan addressed inaccurate reports that assault charges against him were dropped.
“Y’all can’t tell when [stuff is] fake news? Y’all still don’t see an ABUSER picking with me?” tweeted Megan. “I can’t wait until the FACTS come out! You shot me AND MY STORY NOT CHANGING AND YOU GOING TO JAIL.”
Megan has openly and publicly spoken about the case on Twitter and Instagram, alleging Tory was the person who shot her in both of her feet in Hollywood Hills on the night of July 12th.
Tory Lanez pled not guilty to one felony count of assault with an semiautomatic firearm and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle last November. He also faces a “gun allegation and that he personally inflicted great bodily injury.”
Although he has proclaimed his innocence and denied shooting Megan on his DAYSTAR album, Tory faces a maximum prison sentence of 22 years and eight months, if convicted.
