Trina and Towanda Braxton discuss the future of WE tv’s ‘Braxton Family Values’

by

Courtesy of WE tvTrina and Towanda Braxton return tonight with the rest of Braxton family for another season of WE tv’s Braxton Family Values.

This season will undoubtedly be one to watch with the family coming together for Trina’s wedding, Towanda sharing her blossoming love life, and the family dealing with the aftermath of Tamar‘s attempted suicide. Trina tells ABC Audio that even though the show centers on a lot of their personal drama, “the whole premise of doing the show… [has always been] to help other people.”

“Even with the things that Tamar [is] going through, that lets people know that our family is not exempt to any issue that anyone else might be having in the world,” she says. “And hopefully, it will help someone get over and say, ‘Oh, my gosh, this person is experiencing the same thing that I am with my family.’ Or, they’re experiencing depression as well. Or, they’re experiencing mental health as well and they’re able to speak out about it.”

Trina continues, “And maybe it’ll help Mr. and Mrs. fan say, ‘I can get that help, too, because I’m not the only one going through this.'”

Towanda agrees, noting that the family still has pure intentions for doing their show after so many years.

“As long as it still makes sense we’ll still continue,” she says.

Trina nods her head, adding “As long as we’re able to help somebody, as long as we’re able to show someone that there’s someone else in the same situation as you are, then there is still a reason to do Braxton Family Values.”

The seventh season of Braxton Family Values premieres tonight at 9 p.m. ET on WE tv.
