Inage Courtesy RCA Records Following bitter profanity-laced attacks on social media, T-Pain gave into the backlash and removed his song “Girlfriend” featuring Aaliyah from The Iron Way mixtape he released Friday.

He tweeted, “I’m still tryin to figure out how ppl feel I dissed Aaliyah. I was talkin bout how ppl turn into WBC anytime somebody mentions her name.” One tweet summed up the many negative messages he received condemning using the voice of the icon who passed way in 2001 at the age of 22.
