Twitter fans defend SZA’s Good Days video against the haters

by

RCA RecordsBetween her sensual moves on the stripper pole to her interpretive dancing, everyone has something to say about SZA‘s new “Good Days” video. And her fans are not tolerating any “hateration in this dancerie.”

“No SZA slander,” wrote one fan, while another said, “For those of you confused about SZA dancing in the #GoodDayz video. Your level of art comprehension is more than likely the ‘Throat Baby’ or ‘Cry Baby’ video. No shade. Meanwhile, I got your back Solana.”

The “Good Days” video was directed by the TDE artist herself under her birth name, Solana. The visual gives fans a glimpse into SZA’s fantasy world, filled with whimsical flowers and animals, where she can be as free and expressive as she likes, after taking what appears to be some magic mushrooms.

Despite opposing views, most fans were impressed with SZA’s interpretive dance moves in the jungle and on a stripper pole nestled in the middle of a library. At one point, she slows down as she pretends to read a book. Toward the video’s end, SZA reappears on the stripper pole at a gas station.

“I’ve never been more scared and proud to be myself,” wrote SZA on Instagram. “Thank you to my entire team for constantly being patient and supportive. I love you all. “Good Days” shirt and video out now.”

“Good Days” follows SZA’a heavy-hitting single, “Hit Different,” featuring Ty Dolla $ign. Hopefully, both tracks will appear on the highly-anticipated followup to her 2017 debut, Ctrl.
