Tyler, The Creator responds to festival crowd booing Drake: “Made us look soo entitled and trash”

by

Republic RecordsAfter Drake was booed at Tyler, the Creator’s Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival Sunday in Los Angeles, the host clapped back at the crowd for not appreciating Drizzy’s performance.

“Mostly everyone was having a great time. Those s**** in the front area were the ones being mad rude, which I can see why, but nah, f*** that, yall represented me and Flog to my guest and made us look soo entitled and trash,” Tyler tweeted. ”That s*** was like mob mentality and cancel culture in real life and I think that s*** is f****** trash.”

The “In My Feelings” rapper was the unannounced headliner, but there was a backlash because of an online rumor that Frank Ocean would be the surprise guest. Tyler believed the crowd would embrace Drake, and he was shocked at the negative response.

“I thought bringing one of the biggest artist on the f****** planet to a music festival was fire!” he continued. “But flipside, a lil tone deaf knowing the specific crowd it drew. Some created a narrative in their head and acted out like a**** when it didn’t come true and I don’t f*** with that.”

Drake ended his set early after only 20 minutes and told the crowd as he left the stage, “It’s been love. I go by the name of Drake. Thank you for having me.” He joked later about the incident on Instagram, commenting, “Plot twist…just signed a 10 year residency at Camp Flog Gnaw. sorry kids, see you EVERY SINGLE YEAR till you are 30.”

In addition to Drake and Tyler, Solange, Yuna, Summer Walker, Juice WRLD, Daniel Caesar, and Yasiin Bey, aka Mos Def, were also among the acts performing during the two-day event at Dodger Stadium.
