Credit: Image Group LA/ABCTyrese Gibson has lined up his next project, and to say he’s going to be very hands-on is an understatement.
Deadline reports that the actor/singer will star in a movie he co-wrote called The Inside Game, which is described as a “dramatic action thriller.” He’s also producing the film. He won’t be directing it, though: The search is on for someone to fill that role so that production can start in November.
In The Inside Game, Gibson plays Jamal Smith, a Miami police officer who’s suspended for rule-breaking and using excessive force. He goes home to Atlanta and gets involved in a blackmail and extortion scheme that his pro football star brother has gotten caught up in.
Tyrese will also be seen in Fast & Furious 9, a Marvel film from Sony called Morbius, and a cop thriller called Black and Blue. As previously reported, he’ll also play the late great R&B star Teddy Pendergrass in an upcoming biographical movie.
