Cliff Lipson/CBSTyrese Gibson is setting the record straight about his Fast 8 teammate, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson‘s recent negative comments about some of his male co-stars, saying him and the Rock are “brothers.”
After The Rock called out some unnamed male cast mates for being, to put it nicely, unprofessional, Gibson cleared the air on Tuesday in an Instagram video that showed Johnson singing to his daughter, Shayla.
The post, which was later deleted but captured by Entertainment Tonight, read in part: “Why are you guys so impressionable? A man wouldn’t be singing from his heart and soul to another mans little angel if he had a problem with her dad.”
The Transformers actor continued, “I think Dewayne aka DJ happens to be one of the most humble, down to earth and professional people I’ve ever worked with and more importantly he’s my brother we have NEVER had a problem and will never have a problem.”
Tyrese’s comments come after speculation that The Rock was referring to Gibson in his post. Johnson has yet to confirm which male co-star or stars he was referring to. However, TMZ reports it’s star and co-producer Vin Diesel, with whom Johnson reportedly met last night to clear the air.
