Voltron RecordzTyrese reportedly has won a legal case against an author who he claimed took advantage of his mother.
According to TMZ, the singer was sued by author Cynthia Banks for defamation after he bashed Banks for writing a book about Tyrese’s mother and her struggles with alcoholism — the 2009 book is titled Drunk for 27 Years. Banks won the initial suit and Tyrese was ordered to pay her $83,000. But the gossip site reports that Tyrese fought the judgement and won on Monday, having the $83,000 judgement thrown out.
Although he won, the suit caused Tyrese to leave the hospital bedside of his mother, who is currently in critical condition and on a ventilator in a Los Angeles. “Praying over every breath she takes….. Our family needs you like never before,” he recently wrote on Instagram. “Our beloved mother – she’s all we have… #PrayerWarriors we welcome your most sincere prayers….”
