Employees at a popular record store in North Carolina say a mural the beloved, world-renown entertainer Tina Turner was defaced with a red swastika.
The mural is painted on the outside of Static Age Records in downtown Asheville, NC, according to the Citizen Times.
Workers say someone drew Nazi symbol after the close of business on December 23.
The owner of the store, Jesse McSwain, told the publication, “In his 16 years in business, McSwain said he has not experienced any hateful images or threats toward the store.” He added, “This is a widely inclusive, safe space. Hate speech will get you out the door.”
Ashville is a little over 2 hours west of Charlotte, NC.
