Verzuz partners with the NFL for an NFL Pro Bowl Verzuz

On Friday, Verzuz announced they have partnered with the NFL to bring fans a Pro Bowl version of the online battle, which showcases artists’ extensive catalogs.

Titled NFL Pro Bowl VERZUZ presented by Verizon, the new event allows Pro Bowl players to share their most impressive career highlights in a competitive nature, giving fans an opportunity to engage with them in real-time. Set to take place every night beginning January 26 through January 29 at 8:00 PM ET, the new challenges will be available on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and other social platforms.

NFL Hall of Famer Deion Sanders and NFL Network host MJ Acosta-Ruiz have been tapped to host the events. Meanwhile, Deshaun WatsonJamal AdamsBudda BakerDeAndre HopkinsJalen Ramsey, Cameron Jordan, and Myles Garrett are set to compete.

“I’m looking forward to seeing the players go head to head with their highlights!” said Verzuz co-creator Swizz Beatz in a statement.

His Verzuz partner Timbaland added, “These guys are icons just like the artists, let’s give them their flowers. Verzuz partnering with the NFL made sense for us with culture, sports and music being so aligned.”  

Full player matchups will be announced on Monday, January 25 via NFL and VERZUZ social media accounts.  

Segments of the NFL Pro Bowl VERZUZ will also be featured during the ESPN/ABC simulcast of 2021 Pro Bowl Celebration on Sunday, January 31, at 3 PM ET.

The new Verzuz collaboration comes less than a day after the long-awaited Verzuz battle between singers Ashanti and Keyshia Cole took place. Originally set for December 12th, it was postponed after Ashanti revealed she tested positive for COVID-19.

There’s no word yet on the next Verzuz music battle.
