Kevin Mazur/Getty Images for Live NationNew mom Victoria Monét hopped on Instagram Monday night to share details about her motherhood journey after giving birth to her daughter Hazel Monét Gaines last month.
The R&B singer said she’s ready to be open with her 992K followers about her attempts to get back her pre-baby body.
“I’m trying to be open with you guys about my postpartum journey. My body is going through a lot,” said Monét in a video, before revealing her stomach. “I ended up having an emergency C-section after two hours of labor. So I’m working on my snapback but I’ll be sharing with you guys.”
She admitted her belly has slimmed down a bit, thanks to a waist trainer she purchased from Move by Melissa.
“Seven days after delivery, you know I’m trying to get to it,” Monét continued. “We working on it. We gon get there.”
She then shared a tweet that read: “Corrections- I had an emergency C-section after two DAYS of labor. My brain is glitching lol. Friday evening to Sunday afternoon. Whewwww. Hazel.”
According to another tweet, Hazel spent first four days of her life in the NICU under the care of doctors, nurses and staff at Cedar-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles.
“Her first days of life were heartache and bliss simultaneously but she is healthy and well now!” the artist wrote.
Monét welcomed Hazel with her boyfriend, John Gaines on February 21, but did not share the news until this past weekend.
“Mommy and Daddy love you so much! Welcome to the world,” wrote Monét in the caption of a photo of her holding her daughter’s fingers.
