The executive produced-Beyoncé album, The Lion King: The Gift, continues to keep on giving.
In tandem with its official release on Friday, fans have also been treated to an extended cut of the accompanying video for the effort’s lead single “Spirit” which also includes the visuals for another song on the album, “Bigger.”
In the video, which runs nearly nine minutes, Bey brings technicolor to the desert, as she is surrounded by a squadron of dancers adorned in vibrant hues.
The video also features a cameo from the singer’s daughter Blue Ivy, and includes footage from the CGI re-adaptation of The Lion King, which is in theaters now.
Tuesday, the original version of the “Spirit” visual premiered as part of a one-hour ABC primetime special, The Lion King: Can You Feel The Love Tonight with Robin Roberts.
“This soundtrack is a love letter to Africa,” Bey told Roberts. “And, I wanted to make sure we found the best talent from Africa, and not just use some of the sounds, and did my interpretation of it.”
The Lion King: The Gift is stacked with star-studded features from the likes of JAY-Z, Kendrick Lamar, Pharrell, Childish Gambino, Tierra Whack and more. The album also includes contributions from global stars Tekno, Mr Eazi, Yemi Alade, Burna Boy, SAINt JHN, Wiz Kid, Tiwa Savage and Shatta Wale.
In addition to executive-producing the album, Bey’s featured on several songs: the opening track, “Bigger”; “The Nile,” featuring Lamar; “Find Your Way Back (Circle of Life)”; “Mood 4 Eva,” with JAY-Z and Gambino; as well as “Otherside,” “Water,” “Already” and the aforementioned “Spirit.”
