Brandy, ABC/Lou Rocco; Patti LaBelle, ABC/Lorenzo BevilaquaLee Daniels‘ musical drama series Star is gaining two megawatt stars for future episodes.
Patti LaBelle and Brandy have signed on to appear on the show in “multi-episode arcs,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Patti will act as Carlotta Brown’s mother, Christine, while Brandy will play Carlotta’s younger sister, Cassie.
The character of Carlotta is portrayed by Queen Latifah.
You may remember that Brandy and Latifah starred together in the music video for Brandy’s “I Wanna Be Down (Remix)” in 1994, so their reunion on Star will be a special treat for fans.
Patti and Brandy make their Star debuts in spring of next year.
