People reports that the Black Eyed Peas leader recalled the incident while appearing this week on the British TV program, The Graham Norton Show. “It was a magnificent night with me, Chris Tucker and Michael Jackson watching Prince rock on stage,” he recalls. However, he says Jackson did not appreciate Prince giving him a much too close view of the performance. According to will.i.am, “Prince steps off the stage and plays the bass in Michael’s face.”

The story continues as Jackson and will.i.am had breakfast the following day. Michael said, “Why was Prince playing the bass in my face?” Will.i.am replied, “He was just being nice,” which prompted Jackson to respond, “No, he’s always been a meanie.”

Will.i.am also stated that he will not make public any of the unreleased tracks he recorded with Jackson.

“Especially with an artist like Michael Jackson — without him guiding it, it’s not my right to do it.”
