According to The Hollywood Reporter, Smith is developing a spinoff series to The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air via his and Jada Pinkett-Smith‘s multi-media studio, Westbrook Media.

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, which ran on NBC from 1990-1996 and starred Smith as a fictionalized version of himself, helped to launch him as an actor after he initially gained fame as a successful rapper as one-half of the hip-hop duo DJ Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince.

The spinoff news comes after Smith recently announced he’d launched a new line of merchandise called Bel-Air Athletics, which is also inspired by The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.

At this time there’s no word on what the new Fresh Prince of Bel-Air series will entail.
