Chicago police are investigating an alleged sexual assault that may have taken place in R. Kelly’s former recording studio.

A police spokesperson confirmed to the Chicago Sun-Times that a dispatcher received a call from a woman who reported that she was raped by three men on the premises and thrown out of a back door. She believed the alleged assault took place in R. Kelly’s studio.

A Chicago Fire spokesperson said that the woman was picked up a few blocks from Kelly’s former studio just before 4 a.m. Thursday.  Officials said she was treated for sexual assault and her condition was stabilized.

The Sun-Times reports that police vehicles were seen outside the studio’s building early Thursday morning. Authorities confirmed they were responding to a reported incident but wouldn’t comment further.

Kelly vacated the studio in February, after a judge limited the hours he could occupy it. The restrictions came following a citation for dozens of building code violations. City officials found two beds there and claimed the tenant was using the property as a residence. It is only zoned for commercial use.

Kelly himself is the subject of several ongoing investigations related to alleged sexual assaults, all of which he’s denied.  He was indicted on 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse last February.
