Xscape and Migos honored at ASCAP Rhythm and Blues Awards

DeWayne Rogers/Monami EntertainmentXscape and Migos were the special award winners at the 2018 ASCAP Rhythm and Blues AwardsThursday night in Los Angeles.

Jermaine Dupri, who discovered Xscape, presented the group with the Golden Note Award for extraordinary career achievement. The ladies closed the show with a performance of their greatest hits, including “Who Can I Run To,” “Understanding” and “Just Kickin’ It.”

Migos received the Vanguard Award for “expanding hip-hop’s sonic palette with their boundary-breaking creativity.”

Quavo from Migos tied with Gucci Mane for Songwriter of the Year. His compositions include “Good Drank” which he recorded with Gucci and 2 Chainz, and “Bad and Boujee” which Migos recorded with Lil Uzi Vert. 

Gucci Mane’s writing credits include “Black Beatles” which he recorded with Rae Sremmurd, and “Both” which he recorded with Drake

2 Chainz, Timbaland, PARTYNEXTDOOR, Jeremih, Meek Mill, Yo GottiDej Loaf, Erica Campbell, Sevyn Streeter, and Kevin Gates were among the artists attending the event.
