Trilogy Christian PublishingAt just twenty years old, gospel star Jekalyn Carr‘s latest album, One Nation Under God, didn’t just debut at #1 on Billboard’s Gospel Chart: It continues to be a beacon of inspiration and motivation for listeners.

The Grammy-nominated singer tells ABC Radio that the disc — recorded in front of a live audience — was released in order to help people understand “that we need each other.”

She explains, “Looking around, we see that there’s so much division that is going on. But through this album, I wanted to release the message of love. The message of unity.”

“I believe that it’s important that we grab a hold to what it is that each other is doing and celebrate one another,” she adds.

“Because I believe that some positive things can happen when we’re together and when we’re in unity. That’s what this album is all about.”

Besides her new album, Jekalyn’s also celebrating the release of her first book, You Will Win! Inspirational Strategies to Help You Overcome, which is out now.

She says the message of the book is ,”You don’t have to become a champion: You was [sic] born a champion.”

“There’s so many things that we face in our everyday lives as we’re on our journey to win,” she explains.

“And in this book I help you to understand that you don’t have to allow that to make you reject your winning season and your victory title. But let it push you and motivate you to want to win even more.”

“It doesn’t matter how difficult your situation is,” she notes.

“It doesn’t matter where you come from. What your background look[s] like. At the end of the day, you were born to win.”
