Erica Campbell caught a lot of flack when she released her song “I Luh God”, some in the gospel community literally lost their minds claiming that the song was too worldly.
Campbell explains that her song was actually born out of another song that was ‘pretty worldly’ celebrating the use of cocaine, but she wanted to create an alternative.
“I was listening to the radio. Some song called ‘I’m In Love With The CoCo’ came on, and I got upset ’cause I’m like, this is what kids are singing and saying over and over,” Campbell said. “Why can’t [Christians] change that? We got some crazy writers, incredible artists that love Jesus. Let’s infiltrate! Let’s get in there and change it.”
