John Legend is preparing to play the role of a lifetime as Jesus Christ in the NBC special Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert.
The special which is based on the final week of the life of Christ features songs from the original production that debuted on Broadway in 1971 and was developed into a movie in 1973.
Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert will air live from the Marcy Armory in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, New York on Easter Sunday on NBC.
