Tyler Perry Defends Joel Osteen With A $250,000 Donation!

Tyler Perry is coming to the defense of Joel Osteen and Lakewood church in a major way! The “Madea” star is donating $250,000 to the church to help with the Hurricane Harvey relief efforts.

“I know that there’s been some controversy about Joel Osteen and him not opening the doors of the church,” Perry said in a video posted to his Facebook page. “Joel and Victoria are amazing people — there’s no way that they would lock people out of the church or not let people seek shelter.”

Osteen had received criticism for allegedly not opening his church during the early stages of the storm.
