Diabetes affects 1 in 4 Black women (55 and older) but is the 4th leading cause of death for Black women overall, no matter the age. This chronic disease is more prevalent among Black women than our counterparts and I would like to know why? The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates that by 2050 one in three America will develop diabetes. Okay enough of the bad news but the good news is you can reduce the odds by taking charge of your health and lifestyle choices that will decrease your risks.
