‘Roots’ Remake Pulls In Strong Ratings


The premiere episode of “Roots Reimagined” pulled in 5.3 million viewers Monday night. The miniseries ran simultaneously on The History Channel, A & E and Lifetime.

The updated version of “Roots” is the most watched scripted miniseries premiere since “The Bible” and “Bonnie & Clyde” in 2013.

The NBA on TNT also set a record with 16 million people watching Golden State clinch the Western Conference Finals over Oklahoma City.
