Birth Of A Nation will gross an estimated $8 million this weekend at the box office. I am very disappointed that the support for this movie wasn’t there. While many have said they are tired of hearing slave stories it is our history, we should embrace it. The controversy over film-maker movie and star Nate Parker’s rape acquittal, while attending Penn State, may have been huge factor in the lackluster overall appeal of the film. It is still with the price of admission in my book.
