We are sad to learn that Joni Sledge the founding member of the family group Sister Sledge has passed away in at the age of 60. Family members informed the public that the singer was found unresponsive in her Phoenix, Arizona home on Saturday. She had not been ill and the cause of death has not been determined. Joni Sledge recorded a string of hits with sisters Kim, Kathy and Debbie including the Grammy nominated hit “We Are Family’ in 1979. More here from CNN
