L.A. Riots: 25 Years After Rodney King Beating

South Central Los Angeles residents take a look back at the after-math of the Rodney King police beating verdict 25 years later. It was April 29, 1992 when four-Los Angeles Police Officers were acquitted in the video taped police beating of the unarmed man. Civil unrest started in the street of Los Angeles and the total damage was estimated at 41 billion dollars. These event sparked national debate about racial injustice and police brutality in this country. Rodney King did win a $3.8 million dollar settlement for the city of Los Angeles. Only two officers were found guilty.  Officers Stacy C. Koon and Laurence M. Powell were found guilty in Federal Court of violating Rodney King’s civil rights. See the timeline here.
