6.4 Magnitude Earthquake Rocks Southern California

It is the strongest earthquake to hit Southern California in nearly 20 years according to the US Geological Survey. The 6.4 magnitude epicenter was near Ridgecrest, west of the Mojave Desert 150 miles north of Los Angeles. It could be felt in as far as Las Vegas and Las Angeles. There are reports of damage, downed power-lines and fires. In fact 73 aftershocks have been reported and there may be another earthquake coming today for the area.
