Gabourey Sidibe was on her way to friend and co-star Nicole Ari Parker’s birthday party when she posted a full length photo of herself on her Instagram page. Fans immediately noticed her weight loss. The Empire star has been losing weight since 2016 after undergoing laparoscopic bariatric surgery. Her decision to do the surgery was not about vanity, it was for health reasons. Her older brother has Type 2 diabetes. She said she had a fear of losing her toes. More and more people are realizing that being over-weight is a huge health risk.
