They have one of the most enduring Hollywood marriages. Denzel Washington credit his wife of 37 years Pauletta as the reason they have a strong, lasting marriage. Denzel admits that he wouldn’t be where is is today without the love, support and forgiveness of his wife Pauletta. Denzel credits her for doing, “the heavy-lifting.” Pauletta a talented actor and producer in her own right made many sacrifices to build a happy home and raise their four children while her husband became a Hollywood A-Lister.
Fun fact: Pauletta turned down Denzel twice before agreeing to marry him.
While being honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award by the American Film Institute Denzel paid tribute to his wife saying she is, “the most important person in my life, 40 years of sacrifice, 40 years of forgiveness.”
