Lung Damage From COVID-19 Can Last For Months

by

We’re still learning about the long-term effects of COVID-19.  Now researchers say lung damage from the virus can last for weeks – or even months – after recovery. Scientists in Austria say 88% of patients who were hospitalized with COVID-19 still suffered lung damage and shortness of breath six weeks after they were discharged. However, researchers say that damage heals over time.  About half the patients showed improvement after another six weeks.  Patients in the study will be examined again after 24 weeks. I know a few people who recovered from Covid-19 and they are still have problems breathing months later.
