Growing Number Of Families Face Food Insecurity In American

A growing number of Americans are going hungry. National Geographic reports as many as one in six Americans could go hungry in 2020 – due in large part to the coronavirus pandemic. That would be more than 2007’s peak during the great recession. An additional 15.2 million Americans are projected to fall into food insecurity in 2020. That includes another 6.3 million children. While food insecurity is more pronounced in some areas, it is worsening across the board. Food banks designed to fill gaps have become primary sources.
