Jay-Z is calling out the feds after a man named Valon Vailes failed get his sentenced over leftover chicken. Valon Vailes reached out to Jay-Z’s team to bring attention to the outrageous reason he is being denied early release. HeHe was convicted in 2007 and is serving 20 years for intent to distribute more than a ton of marijuana. He is now asking for a reduced sentence. He has a brother who is mentally ill and his caretaker was his mom who died in 2020. Federal prosecutors are denying the compassionate release because Vailes snuck leftover chicken into his cell. They also said Vailes used a part of his prison uniform as ‘workout equipment.’ Jay-Z’s team is trying to get his sentence reduced to time served and released immediately. In a letter to Jay-Z, Vailes said he is frustrated with watching corporations and individuals make billions off legalized marijuana while he sits in prison.
