Viola Davis will receive the Cannes 2022 Women in Motion Award on May 22. The organizer of the award said Davis was, one of the most influential American actresses and producers of her time. She is being recognized for her acting roles and commitment to the rights of women and minorities. The Oscar-winner is the first Black Actor to receive the honor. Other actresses in film who have received the honor include Salma Hayek and Jane Fonda.
