An attorney for Brittney Griner says the WNBA star’s detention in Moscow has been extended by another month. Griner is awaiting trial after Russian authorities say she was found with vape cartridges with cannabis oil in her luggage. The White House says Griner is being wrongfully detained and is working towards her release. Her lawyer says the relatively brief extension could mean Griner’s case will go to trial soon. It was heartbreaking to see her court appearance on Friday. The WNBA star is facing up to 10 years in prison if convicted. Stay strong Brittney.
