Mattel has released a Barbie doll as part of its “Inspiring Women” series honoring pioneering pilot Bessie Coleman. Coleman was the first Black and Native American woman pilot. Barbie’s partnership with Bessie Coleman Aviation All-Stars will help educate students about aviation careers. Coleman earned her pilot’s license in 1921 while attending aviation school in Paris and then started performing aerial stunts in the US. What a great way to kick-off Black History Month!
