Charges against R. Kelly have been dropped in Illinois. The singer is no longer facing charges of sexual abuse locally because of “extensive sentences” for federal crimes. Today, Illinois state attorney Kim Foxx announced the decision after the singer plead not guilty to ten state-level charges of sexual abuse. R. Kelly is waiting to be sentenced on other federal charges since being found guilty of child pornography possession.
