The Paris Olympics organizers mounted the rings on the Eiffel Tower French capital celebrates the countdown to the start of the Summer Games July 26, 2024. The 95-foot-long and 43-foot-high structure of five rings, made entirely of recycled French steel, will be displayed on the south side of the 135-year-old historic landmark in central Paris, overlooking the Seine River. (AP Photo/Aurelien Morissard) The Olympic Village, where athletes competing in the Paris Summer Olympics will stay, won’t have air conditioning. The decision not to install AC was an effort by organizers to have the “greenest ever Games.” Instead of AC, a system of water pipes running beneath the floorboards at the athlete’s residence will be used to cool rooms to temperatures ranging from 73 to 79 degrees. Fans will be provided by the Paris Olympic committee, but many countries, including the United States, will be providing portable AC units to their athletes. Let’s go Team USA!!!
