The posthumous release of Aaliyah didn’t get the reception anticipated. Many Aaliyah fans are not happy about her new song “Poison” featuring The Weeknd. The song, released on Friday, got many mixed reviews on social media. One fan said, “this aaliyah x abel song might be the worst thing I’ve ever heard.” Another said, “if aaliyah’s vocals on the demo were too unclear to the point that your engineers couldn’t mix and master them to sound good, this song shouldn’t have been released. shame on y’all” One fan’s response sums up many when they wrote, “Why does Aaliyah sound like she left The Weeknd a voicemail and he decided to record it himself ??? Fix it now!”
