Reddit board member Alexis Ohanian has resigned from Reddit, the company he co-founded along with Steve Huffman in 2005. Ohanian cites the reason for her departure is so that he can answer his black daughter, who he shares with tennis superstar, Serena Williams, when she asks, “Daddy what do you do?” “I believe resignation can actually be an act of leadership from people in power right now. To everyone fighting to fix our broken nation: do not stop,” said Ohanian in a statement. He’s urging the company to fill his seat with a black candidate, something Huffman will honor. Ohanian says it’s important to live up to our values in our product and policies.” Reddit will update its content policies to include rules on hate speech. He will also give $1 million to Colin Kaepernick’s Know Your Rights Camp.
