Hair Dyes And Straighteners Linked To Cancer Risk, Especially For Black Women

New research is raising concerns about the safety of permanent hair color and chemical relaxers, that’s a wake-up call for African American women. Previous research in animals found links between certain chemicals in hair color, straighteners and cancer. The new findings show women that used permanent dyes or relaxers were at a higher risk of developing breast cancer.The risk is even greater for women of color because we tend to relax our hair every 6 weeks or so.  As a Black woman it appears we always dying to be pretty. Read more on the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences study. It could lower your risk of cancer by eliminating chemical hazards of products in the beauty industry.
