President Biden To Nominate Black Woman To Supreme Court

by

President Joe Biden announced this week he would keep his campaign promise to appoint a Black woman to the Supreme Court.  After Justice Stephen Breyer announced he was retiring in January speculation started who will get the nomination. Regardless who is nominated for the court two thing we know for sure Republicans will complain regardless who is nominated and she will have more judicial experience than Amy Coney Barrett who never tried a case in her life. Barrett taught constitutional law at Notre Dame. Amy Coney Barrett was nominated by Donald Trump a few days after Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg passed. Of course many had to complain about the President’s comments. We can always count on Texas Senator Ted Cruz to add an unnecessary comment that demonstrated he is clueless.  ‘If you’re a White guy, tough luck. If you’re a White woman, tough luck. You don’t qualify.'” Cruz added that Biden’s goal was “offensive” and  “actually an insult to Black women.” Is he serious?

It is long overdue, and Black women have earned the representation in the highest court in the land. It will be a great moment in history.

Biden isn’t the first president to consider diversity.
