In June Ragu voluntarily announced a recall of several types of pasta sauces that could be contaminated with plastic fragments. Now the FDA has called for a recall. Unless you like topping your spaghetti with fragments of plastic with your pasta, you’d probably better check the bottle of Ragu in your kitchen pantry. Mizkan America Inc., the company that makes the popular pasta sauce, has issued a recall for several Ragu products after finding plastic fragments in some of them. The types of sauce that could be infected include Chunky Tomato Garlic & Onion, Old World Style Traditional and Old World Style Meat. If you have one of those types with a best used by date of June or even July 2019, to be on the safe side you should return it to its point of purchase, according to Mizkam. Mizkam officials note the recall is voluntary and no reports of injuries or illnesses have resulted from the plastic-contaminated sauce.
