Stacy Abrams Ends Run For Georgia Governor

by

Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams may have lost the election, but don’t call it a concession. Abrams announced on Friday that she would no longer challenge the results of the election, which was narrowly won by Republican Brian Kemp. Stacy Abrams ended her bid to become the first Black Women in history to lead at the state level. Her opponent Kemp was over seeing the election and led efforts to suppress the votes of thousands of citizens in the Peach State.

Abrams insisted it was “not a speech of concession” and said she plans to file a federal lawsuit alleging “gross mismanagement” of the state’s election, which was overseen by Kemp himself when he declined to recuse himself as Georgia’s Secretary of State.
