It all started here in Dallas for “The Fly Jock” Tom Joyner, now after 25 years of his nationally syndicated show The Tom Joyner Morning Show (TJMS) broadcasted his last show on Friday. Joyner’s show was broadcast in over 105 markets influencing nearly 8 million listeners across the U.S. Joyner has been successful in entertaining and mobilizing his audience. Joyner has also championed raising money and awareness for Historic Black Colleges University’s and their students. In the 1980s, Joyner famously flew back and forth from Dallas and Chicago every day to host a morning show and an afternoon show. His syndicated show launched in 1994. The Tom Joyner Foundation will keep providing scholarship opportunities for HBCU students.
