She already said that she wasn’t mad at them. Move on, there’s nothing to respond to. They are missing the whole point of why she shared her story. Put your big girl draws on and move forward in a POSITIVE direction. I believe if they’re going to say anything, it should be an apology.

  2. Melyssa Prince

Why, oh why must we beat our fellow sistahs down? Sheryl said that some of what they said is what she needed to hear to help make her a better person and enhance her career. I didn’t really see it as her putting the other ladies down. It was more of her encouraging others to be stronger and better. Can’t we all just get along?! SMH.

  3. shelby stevenson

We have heard her side but lets not think badly about the other ladies, maybe there is some truth to it but we weren’t there I can only hope that this can be a lesson to all of us .. somebody is always listening so be mindful of what we say. I wish nothing but best for all the ladies we have enjoyed all of them and hope they keep bringing us great comedy !

  4. LaToya Mabry

You do not give a testimony the way she did. Maybe it’s true, maybe it isn’t. However, the way she went about it was wrong. A testimony is suppose to uplift ALL… not uplift some while hurting others. She could have shared this without giving names… what I do think is funny is that she tried to go for ppl she believed didn’t have a platform to give their side. She kept excluding Monique because she knew Monique would of came for that ass!! But this stunt WILL backfire on her. Especially if she is the Christian she claims to be.
Point blank… do not try and drop wisdom with spiteful intentions…

  5. Rochelle

I think you are missing the point. She said that Monique was not there, so how could she respond. She wasn’t giving a testimony she was letting people know that she has come this far with out the Queens of Comedy.

  6. Mrs Word

Theres nothing for them to bash her about it sounds like they are mad cause the secret is out that she knew they were talking about her . But im like the rest they are missing the point she could have been ugly an brought out everything that was said but she didnt she thanked them because due to that secret conversation she became a better person and her career took off . Shes a lady and I appreciate her keeping it positive

  7. LaToya Mabry

I’m not missing anything. It’s respectful ways you Handle things like this. There was ill will in her actions. What do you think a testimony is?

  8. Marilyn Ferrell

I THINK THAT IT IS GOOD THAT SHE EXPOSED THEM. SHERYL WAS THE BIGGER PERSON, SHE COULD HAVE BEEN NASTY ABOUT IT! BUT, SHE GOT SOMETHING OFF HER CHEST THAT HAD BEEN BOTHERING HER FOR YEARS! IT IS SAID, DONE & IF THE OTHERS WANT TO BE BIG ABOUT IT, SIMPLY APOLOGIZE & MOVE FORWARD. THANK YOU SHERYL FOR SHOWING BLACK WOMEN OR WOMEN, PERIOD, THAT THERE IS A BETTER WAY TO HANDLE NEGATIVITY! THEY WEREN’T BIG ENOUGH TO TELL YOU TO YOUR FACE WHAT THEY THOUGHT ABOUT YOU, SO, LIFE HAS A WAY OF SHOWING & EXPOSING PEOPLE FOR WHO & WHAT THEY REALLY ARE……FAKE! <3

  9. kim

I dont think it was supposed to be a testimony. A part of her job for that day was to tell a secret. So she she told the one she had inside of her, that would get the ratings up. Monique was not on the call because she had went on to other adventures. This is why she made sure to exclude her. It appears people didnt really look at the footage.

  10. Kt

You are missing the whole point. She wasn’t giving a testimony, she was revealing a secret. There was absolutely nothin spiteful about it. If you paid any attention you would heard her thank them for everything they had to say because it help her to be a better person. She could of went in to details about what the women said but she chose not too. Oh yeah and FYI the truth sets you free it doesn’t back fire on you. One more thing you notice the two that did respond you notice neither one of them denied what she said

  11. Sydnie Evans

Real classy response….hire a publicist..quick….before you put your foot in it…again

  12. Shelia White Thomas

I think that it is really sad when your own people bring you down, Why is it that we (women of color )can’t be happy for another sister that is doing well. What makes them think that they are so much better then she is. I DON’T THINK SHE IS STILL MAD. But she does have the right to be hurt, and no one should be able to tell her how long she gets to be hurt.

  13. Yvette

It wasn’t a testimony. It was a secret! It amazes me when people say its wasn’t done in a christian way well yes it was as a matter of fact it was done in a dignified way. They were wrong and immature for their response. Honestly in my opinion the ones that are so called upset at her for telling her secret are the ones guilty of from some of their own past actions. I can only imagine the inner hurt of holding that in all these years. Forgiving them and moving on is the Christian way period point blank. Sticks and stones will break your bones and words do hurt!

  14. Taneesha

I don’t understand why what she said is being seen malicious? Not one time did she bash them, the only thing she said was she overheard them talking about her and it basically woke her up and made her look at things differently. She also gave them props for their success so what are you saying? I felt her story was extremely encouraging and a positive message.

  15. Katina Powell

They are guilty because of the way they are responding on Twitter and all that. Never once did they deny. All I can say is they have been BUSTED now it’s time for them to suck it up and move it LADIES!

  16. Raymond D. Sweet

I’m sorry only petty people would find her statements on National TV appropriate. People say stuff to people who don’t have National TV shows all the time – the place for your foolishness and issues is to the people that you have a problem. Underwood was wrong for what she did.

  17. Raymond D. Sweet

Exactly. She was wrong. If she wanted to deal with this she should have gone to the people it involved. Only messy people do stuff like this.

  18. Raymond D. Sweet

I saw the whole thing. Underwood was being messy. What she did was inappropriate. She could have told a secret like that without giving names. That’s when it turned negative.

  19. Raymond D. Sweet

Come on now. Some says on National TV that you’re a backbiting gossip? What purpose does that serve? That was some petty, catty stuff. If anything she should have told a personal secret – like she had a facelift, or she had an abortion or she has AIDS. What she told was not a secret – she was reading people.

  20. Raymond D. Sweet

What Bible have you read that says air your business on National TV? That is where a Christian gets his/her directions for living. The Bible. I don’t talk about people behind their backs so no – I’m offended – because it was wrong.

  21. Raymond D. Sweet

She was ugly and she brought enough of it out. Her secret should have been personal involving only her.

  22. Raymond D. Sweet

She did go into details. She should not have said that on Naitonal TV.

  23. Rhea

Oh…rather than uplift everyone with a story of forgiveness in the face of people going behind your back and undermining you, you’d rather her tell a story to diminish herself and really not uplift anybody? Cause see, the only people who would have been embarrassed about that are the people who have a guilty conscience and are salty that they were put on blast for being two-faced, and they haven’t forgiven themselves yet. And what she said wasn’t hurtful at all. It was just embarrassing. They should be ashamed, but that was not her goal. Her goal was to tell other people that criticism, no matter how mean-spirited and cruel, can sharpen you.

  24. Kt

She wasn’t reading anyone. She was letting it be known that what they said help shaped her into the woman she is today. She even thank them for it. The only people that were being messy were the three women that was talking behind Sheryl’s back. So what she revealed it on national tv, she didn’t do it behind their back where she didn’t think they would find out like they did.

  25. Sinned Mahkceb

so your saying since they was being sneaky and putting her down she should address them in private to save their feelings and reputation, well thats your opinion, but she didnt owe them anything theses were three women who talked and put her down and didnt even have the decency to tell her how they really felt, to be honest she has more of a connection with the view and the national audience then she does these women so to tell what the did to her and how she overcame it to her audience seems more realistic and definitely more honest then having some back room conversation with women who dont respect her enough to do the same….and yea you do sound like someone who talks behind people back but get mad when they put your actions in the public eye but just a opinion

  26. Aspire2InspireTheWorld

She didn’t give direct quotes and she didn’t say who said what. She could have been very messy about it. Sheryl handled it like a lady and it touched many people to hear that testimony.

  27. Aspire2InspireTheWorld

Why would Mo’Nique have been on the conference call if she wasn’t even going on tour with them? Sheryl is telling the absolute truth. Even a homeless person can get an interview with TMZ so the whole platform argument is null & void.

  28. Aspire2InspireTheWorld

A testimony is your personal truth. Point blank. The power of a testimony is that it helps the person telling it and those hearing it. If others are convicted that’s their fault.

  29. Timothy J.B.

So why didnt they tell her how they felt about in her face. Why did they do it behind her back. You looking at it all wrong. She went on and did movies with these same women who talked about her behind her back. “In secret”. So she let out a secret that changed her life in a positive way. Even though their intentions where mean. Whats done in the dark will come to the light. Bet they wish she hadn’t heard that secret now.

  30. Kim MyGodisavailable Ross-Brin

THIS WAS NOT SAID FOR A RESPONSE…. THIS WAS SAID TO BLESS OTHERS WHO ARE GOING THRU & WILL ENCOUNTER SUCH THINGS !!! PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, WITH ALL THAT’S GOING ON AROUND THE WORLD…. LET IT GO & LET GOD !!!

  31. LaKeisha Wade

For someone who is christian you sure are judging pretty hard. Remember, throw the first stone if you have never sinned.

  32. LaKeisha Wade

Who are you to tell someone they aren’t doing something right? How do you know that wasn’t in God’s plan? People of color has a bad habit in telling others how they believe something should be done and very judgmental.

  33. Kim MyGodisavailable Ross-Brin

THIS LOOKS MORE MESSY THAN ANYTHING THAT WOMAN SAID !!! NEGATIVE PPL WILL GET A NEGATIVE FROM IT AND POSITIVE WOOL DRAW THE POSITIVE !!! IF U CAN’T USE IT FOR YOUR GOOD !!! THROW IT AWAY, IGNORE IT, BUT ARGUE ABOUT IT, TO EACH IS OWN!!! I’M OUT !!! UNTIL IT HAPPENS TO US, WHO ARE WE TO SAY ANYTHING !!! DIFFERENT STORY THEN !!!

  34. Sunshine

Ms. Raymond honey, you are going in pretty hard on Ms. Cheryl. Maybe you need to take it down a notch Ms. thing…ijs

  35. Sunshine

Btw, is “Sweet” really your last name or is that what you prefer to be called? ija!!!

  36. Anthony

Old school wisdom says that you don’t air your dirty linen in public. You don’t embarrass colleagues like that. She could have gone to them in private. Apparently she is not a celebrity angel herself (Rickey Smiley addressed some issues he had with her in the past). She took the low road at 100MPH. And now she opened herself up to people airing her dirty linen in public.

  37. disqus_2J4i6NRVrd

If they said it they said it. Sheryl is probably telling the truth because no one is screaming lies. If you don’t want someone to repeat what you say don’t say it. Karma catches up with us all
    Be careful what you say.
    .

  38. Ervin Dickerson

Funny how Adele and Ms. Hayes never denied in their blight of a response via social media stating it was a lie. Another case of a woman never want to share the wealth with another woman in their field.

  39. Raymond D. Sweet

Tamara, if I offended you – I would think you would give me enough respect as a human to allow me to explain my point of view. Again, Underwood join the call later – she does not know what happened prior to her coming on the call. But let’s take this out of television world for a second. When we do not honor the humanity of people – we provide a space for violence. Our world has enough problems and issues. Underwood, may have encouraged some, but she made others feel uneasy. The world of entertainment is hard for negroes and when they start this mess – it’s not healthy.

  40. Raymond D. Sweet

You can call me whatever you want. I don’t have hangups about who I am. But you are a poster child for people who like messy stuff.

  41. Raymond D. Sweet

I hope if you have children you employ this same bad habit of telling others how they believe something should be done. You know what never mind. if this is what you think is okay.

  42. Raymond D. Sweet

Thank goodness some of us find this whole thing crazy. Maybe these are her sorors who are on here thinking this is okay. It is obvious if they are working with her – they also found a new respect and appreciation for her. But that thing that happened in the 90′s sets the clock back.

  43. Raymond D. Sweet

Thanks, Shelby. A voice of reason. And after you say that – people say things below. Some people don’t want a mature response.

  44. Annette

Sheryl had the right to express her opinion on TV and any place else. In America that’s call freedom of speech. Now if the other comics (who are popular) don’t have the same exposure to make their comments that’s not Sheryl’s fault. The bottom line we live in a technical society and if technology has it so we can do conference calls…..check your line before you start bashing someone. Why? You don’t know who’s listening. Sheryl had a bad experience with people that she thought were her friends and colleagues. They hurt her. She chose the high road and has lived long enough to know that what the enemy has used to hurt you and destroy you her Father covered her and turned it around for her good. Her main point was that it was a growing experience for her.

  45. cg

The fact of the matter is, that she didn’t owe them anything. If they wouldn’t have opened their mouth they wouldn’t have been subject to being BUSTED on national television, in secret, to a family member,or to anything else in this whole world. They chose to do something stupid and got their asses caught, now all of a sudden she’s wrong because everybody knows about it now. They were supposed to be friends colleagues or what have you, but they chose to talk about this lady and now it’s a bad thing because everybody knows about it. I don’t give a damn where she told it or who she told it to, the fact of the matter is they open their mouth and said something very disrespectful about this lady and hurt this lady, mind you they didn’t want her to know about it, but it just so happens she did hear about it, matter of fact she heard it herself. So whatever came out of that for those ladies is their damn fault. You need to be preaching about people talking about each other behind their back because this is the type of thing that can happen to them because no matter how you put it “RAYMOND” these ladies got busted and talked about on national television because of something that they did disrespectful to this woman so it is what it is. Bottom line that woman don’t owe them s*** because she was disrespected because they got embarrassed in it that’s their damn fault they cause their own embarrassment only because they didn’t want her to know about it but she knew about it. You want to talk about Messy, you need to go over and console them ladies if you care that much because at the end of the day if somebody said something about me I wouldn’t give a damn how other people found out about it, the fact of the matter is it would have never gotten to anyone else if you didn’t do something so disrespectful so you could take that how you want to take it.

  46. genevieve

Raymond u is sweet I’m not sorry but quit crying like a lil bit@@…..no one cares about your point of view and no one will side with you….all my sisters above are correct and you have your panties in a bunch…..I could say something tactful but your posts are annoying as if she has hurt you…were you on the conference call negro? Get over it and handle your affairs as you choose…she’s a grown a@@ woman and made her choice….why don’t you gripe about the others going to her as opposed to blasting her on the conf call like some haters….What a class act to maintain professionalism even working with theses women knowing they were fake…..if it were me I would have chopped all their heads off on whatever platform I chose tv, face to face, on the darn call, or whatever esp back then…so I commend her as I feel she touched my spirit and taught me how patience and being a lady has its real rewards!!! I’m #teamSherylalldaybooboo #shewon

  47. genevieve

Don’t no body give a damn about what Ricky had to say or him chiming in….that’s a B move and the cold part about it I love Ricky, Sommore, Adele & the other chic but guess what they wrong as hell…Ricky included…stop whining!!!! Damn!!!! Get over it! Hey she did #teamsheryl #shewon
