According to the report, White, 74, died in his sleep in L.A. after a decades-long battle with Parkinson’s Disease. He was diagnosed in 1992 and by 1994 he had to stop touring with the band, but maintained executive control over the group. In recent months, his condition worsened.

White penned all of the aforementioned songs as well as many more for artists like Deniece Williams, The Emotions, and Barbra Streisand.

White was inducted into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with Earth, Wind & Fire and then recognized individually as a song writer.

Throughout his outstanding career, White was nominated for 21 Grammys and won 7. WOW Rest In Peace To LEGEND! Listen today at noon for an EW&F Megamix inside KJ’s Café!
